Sentences

Definition

A sentence consists of words which work together and make sense. They begin

with a capital letter and normally end with a full stop.

Remember: A sentence can also end with a question mark (?) or an

                       exclamation mark (!).

Example

My tutor helped me with my tuition homework online.

Explanation

The example is a sentence. This is shown by the capital letter at the beginning

of the sentence and the punctuation mark at the end of the sentence.

Example

helped me with my tuition homework.

Explanation

The example is not a sentence. This is because of the missing capital letter at

the beginning of the sentence and the missing punctuation mark at the end

of the sentence.
