Phrasal verbs (2)


Sometimes there’s an object after the phrasal verb.

Example:

Put on your coat.

(phrasal verb = put on)

(object = your coat)

 

Put on:

  • Put on your jacket. (or you can say Put your jacket on)
  • Put your gloves
  • Here’s your hat. Put it
  • I put on a vest underneath my jumper.

 

Take off:

  • Take off your shoes. (or you can say Take your shoes off)
  • Take your socks off if you’re feeling too hot.
  • I always take my gloves off when I enter the house.
  • You can’t wear dirty socks on the cream carpet. Take them
