An online English writing tutor can help you with how you use of punctuation

effects the how your work should be paced and has an effect how you want

your work to sound, so make sure you vary it purposefully.

 

You have a range of punctuation available to you, including: full stops, 

commas, colons, semi colons, exclamation marks and question marks.

 

Full stops and commas: These are basic punctuation’s you should always use.

 

Colons: You use them to introduce lists. For example: ‘You should eat plenty 

of food including: oranges, pears, pineapples and gooseberries.’

 

Semicolons: When there are two sentences closely related then we bond the

two statements with these. E.g. ‘We all jumped quickly onto the coach;

we were all excited.’

 

Exclamation marks: These express emotion within your writing.

‘I was upset!’Question marks: Used when a question is asked,

‘Do you think the weather will improve?’
