Toxic materials in the food chain


Toxic materials can accumulate in food chains. If it is consumed at the bottom

of a food chain then it can start moving its way up which can be very dangerous.

 

An example of this is mercury, which can travel up marine food chains. It can

lead to high levels in fish like tuna.
