About Improve Tuition
Teacher-led tuition, since 2007.
A teacher-led tuition service supporting children aged 5 to 18 in Maths, English and Science — from primary through to A-Level — in person at our Batley centre and online across the UK and abroad. Founded and led by Mr G Dabhad, a qualified teacher with QTS, BA (Hons), and 18 years' experience.

Parents usually come to us when their child is trying, but progress is not showing. Often, the issue is not lack of effort — it is an unseen learning gap.
Our role is to assess first, explain the problem clearly, and provide structured tuition with a proper plan.
What we see
The signs are usually the same.
Homework may feel stressful. Confidence may be slipping. Exam marks may not reflect the effort being made. By the time parents reach out, they've often tried the school's own support — and they still don't have a clear answer.
Our first job isn't to sell tuition. It's to find out what is really causing the difficulty, so parents don't have to guess what's wrong before asking for help.
Who we are
A teacher-led tuition centre, not a marketplace.
Improve Tuition was established in 2007 in Batley, West Yorkshire. Since then we have supported families in Batley and online with teacher-led Maths, English and Science tuition for SATs, the 11+, GCSEs and A-Levels.
We work with children aged 5 to 18, both in person at our Batley centre and online — supporting families across the UK and abroad. Every pupil starts with an assessment that finds the gap, then follows a focused plan that closes it.
We are not a tutor marketplace where parents compare profiles alone. We are a focused, teacher-led team with one clear standard across the subjects we offer.
The founder
Led by Mr G Dabhad, qualified teacher.
Improve Tuition is led by Mr G Dabhad, a qualified teacher with QTS, a BA (Hons) degree and 18 years' experience leading the service.
He founded Improve Tuition in 2007 with a clear belief: pupils make stronger progress when teaching is structured, monitored and based on the real gaps in their learning.
Mr Dabhad oversees assessment, progress and teaching direction across Maths, English and Science. Lessons are delivered by DBS-checked tutors who follow Improve Tuition's structured approach.
His focus is simple: find the gap, close the gap, and keep families informed.
Our tutors
Selected from the top of their year.
Past tutors have gone on to study medicine at Oxford and Cambridge. Some stayed with us for seven years — from sixth form through to qualifying as doctors.
We accept fewer than 1 in 7 who apply. Top grades are the starting point. We then look for three things:
- Can they explain ideas clearly?
- Are they good with children?
- Do they stay patient when a pupil is stuck?
Pupils rate them too. Only those who pass that bar carry the Improve Tuition name.
Our approach
Find the gap first, then teach with a clear plan.
1. Assess. Every pupil begins with a written assessment. We identify the gaps by topic, skill or exam question type. No guessing.
2. Teach. Lessons follow a focused plan. Pupils learn what is missing, then practise until it sticks.
3. Track. We monitor progress, update parents and adjust quickly if something is not working.
What we teach
Maths, English and Science — for ages 5 to 18.
Our core subjects are Maths, English and Science, supported across primary, secondary, GCSE and A-Level.
We also prepare pupils for the 11+ exam, SATs and GCSE retakes.
Lessons are available in person at our Batley centre, or online — with the same standards and the same structured approach.
Support is offered through one-to-one, paired, small group or online tuition, depending on the child's needs.
Where to find us
Based in Batley, online everywhere.
Our centre is on George Street, Batley, West Yorkshire. Families travel from Dewsbury, Bradford, Huddersfield, Leeds, Wakefield and Halifax for in-person tuition.
Online lessons are open to families across the UK and to British curriculum pupils overseas. The teaching approach is the same in both formats.
Lessons run by appointment: Monday to Friday 9am–7pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am–2pm. You can call within these hours.

Established since 2007, Improve Tuition is supported by DBS-checked tutors and public parent reviews.
If your child is struggling, slipping behind or losing confidence, the first step is not to guess. It is to find the gap.
Parents deserve clear answers, children deserve patient teaching, and tuition should have a proper plan.
