Reflection, Rotation and Translation

Reflection is the name given when a shape is flipped over a mirror line.

Rotation is the name given when a shape is turned around a point. For a rotation, it is important to be specific about the direction the shape is being turned (clockwise or anticlockwise) and how big an angle it is being turned.

Translation is the name given when a shape is moved left/right or up/down

1)

Reflect this shape in the mirror line

2)

Reflect this shape in all the mirror lines.

3)

4)

Reflect the shape in the mirror line.

5)

The shape is translated one square up and there squares to the left.

b) Write the new coordinates of point x

6) Rotate the shape 90 anticlock around point 2.draw the newshape.
